I have been a rank-and-file Senior Environmental Substances Scientist at the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) since 1990. As a union member and representative (California Association of Professional Scientists – CAPS, State Bargaining Unit 10) and union leader (two-time CAPS president), I have represented employee and retiree interests and negotiated on their behalf for over twenty-five years, including bargaining with every administration since Governor Deukmejian.
I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BS Degree in Biochemistry and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Pitt’s Katz School of Business, with a special emphasis on International Finance. I have a long professional history of promoting excellence as a member of the Board of Examiners and Lead Senior Examiner of the California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE).
